Induction: origins & fundamentals

Induction can heat all conductive materials: aluminum, steel, graphite, very thin metal coatings, melted glass… and even some ceramics. Depending on the case, the efficiency varies between 0.1% to 99%, depending on the material, its shape and its distance from the inductor.

Impedance matching

In induction electrothermics, the heated element is called the susceptor.
The electrical resistance of your system will only reach nominal operating in a narrow control range.
An ill-adapted induction generator will never deliver its nominal power.

Induction generates electromagnetic forces, just like an electric motor does: here we combine both the inductive current and electromagnetic forces.
